Lovely Little Endeavors

The weekend offers me the chance to do all the things I dream about during the work week.  I like to visit my family.  Decorate my home.  Whip up new dishes.  And, occasionally, leave the homestead to sip warmth in pretty little tea cups.

When my nose isn't stuck in a book, I do things. Camera at my side.

Here's a look at last weekend in anticipation of the coming break from the 8 to 5:

I. Tea Party

II. Trips to the Market and a Teeny, Tiny Kitchen

III. Nana and Papa and the Vast Space They Inhabit

Ah, fresh air. And flowers. And herbs for baking. And tea for drinking.

"I was something that lay under the sun and felt it, like the pumpkins, and I did not want to be anything more.  I was entirely happy.  Perhaps we feel like that when we die and become a part of something entire, whether it is sun and air, or goodness and knowledge. At any rate, that is happiness; to be dissolved into something complete and great." - My Antonia

  1. I know I've said this before, but can I say again just how much I love your photography style?
Also, I want to come to a tea party with you. Tea Atlanta style looks/sounds brilliant.

  5. Thanks you guys! I feel like I'm doing something right! Haha.

@ Lyndsey- The tea party was fantastic! The sweets were large in number but oh! so delicious. My boyfriend really knows how to show me a good day out!

@Jamie I use several programs for different effects. I use a Nikon program for general cleanups and color. Then I use picnik.com to make the collages and little filters like the one you see on the last one. It really just depends. I like to play around with the shots I've taken- and that's work itself cause I'll take about a million of one object and then go from there. I can only imagine the life of a real life photographer-- then I sighh... Haha. I can dream.

  7. Thanks. Isn't tea delicious!?! It trumps coffee anyday, in my opinion, of course.

  8. I love the pics! They are wonderful! The tea reminds me of when I lived in England - that was all I drank. I loved going out to tea and eating scones and chatting with friends - the best memories involve tea. And I love hydrangeas - my favorite flower thanks to Barefoot Contessa! And your grandparent's place is amazing!! Thanks for sharing these fantastic photos!

  9. Nadia- I do love tea. I also have fond memories of tea parties as a child, and wonder why I haven't thrown my own. Hydrangeas are marvelous, though, I have had little success keeping these beauties alive in the apartment. My grandparents house is a charming place in a beautiful spot in the country. I love visiting there when I need clarity and warmth. Glad you could enjoy them!

  10. You should throw a tea party! Each person bring their own cup and saucer.
