Sunday Edition: A Day Trip

With the madness of the Read-Along, the book club meetings and various commitments I didn't get to post my adventure last Sunday.  With the weather in the high 60s, J came home from a Sunday meeting with plans to cart me to Chattanooga for the day.  WE LOVE CHATTANOOGA.  I mean, what's not to love about the Northshore?!

Here are some photos of our excursion:

Food at our favorite hot dog hang out.  J bought me a copy of Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer at one of my favorite used book stores.  And we sat in the park and watched people enjoying the beautiful weather.  I also attempted to jump a stone divider, which resulted in one of the funniest slideshow of photos of me (courtesy of my lovely boyfriend) to date.  Apparently, you shouldn't listen to someone who's 6'3"tell you it's really easy when you barely grew to be 5'5".  It was so worth it, though.

What did you do this weekend?

  1. I always love looking at your photos, and the one with the food has made me really hungry!

This weekend I have been wedding planning (as I will do every weekend until July!). It was bridesmaids dresses this week.

  2. It looks like a wonderful excursion! I visited Chattanooga when I was young but don't remember much of it except that the hotel we stayed in was old train cars that they renovated into hotel rooms. Also there was a water slide...

And now I would like a hot dog. :)

  3. Beth,
For a belated Valentines Day, I took my girlfriend Sarah to the nearest Barnes and Noble..in Columbus, Ga! We had a little mixup with the directions to get there..it takes nearly an hour from Auburn to Columbus. But we found it and I let her pick out any 3 books she wanted and I would buy them for her. Well, she had 8 she found that she liked from which she would choose 3.
She got it down to 4 books and I just couldn't bear to say no, so I bought all 4 for her. It was so much fun! The most amazing part of the ordeal was that I managed to walk out without buying anything for myself.
