Five Days of Christmas: My Little Family

Last night we celebrated our third night of Christmas.  I'll admit that it makes me just a teeny bit sad.  I'll refrain from singing "I'll I Want From Christmas Is You" because 1) people would ask me to stop singing, and 2) well, it's really that people would ask me to stop singing, and that might hurt my feelings.

Insert exciting gift announcement: J gave me the prettiest little iPhone case. It's all bookish and stuff.  I can't tell you how much I like love like it.

Cue pathetic phone photo:

I'll just say it: J is a master gift giver.  I'm not complaining.

Aside from the gifts, he's pretty much amazing.  Surprise lunch visits even though he has to pay a million dollars to park in the city to visit? Check.  Singing and dancing in the morning with the cats when I'm running around getting ready? Check.  Supportive and encouraging? Check.  Up for morning cuddles when he'd rather be sleeping? Check.  Ok, I didn't just post that he cuddles on the internet. He is pretty much the moon and the sun and all that to me.

On the second day of Christmas...

I'm so grateful for my little family.
J & Stevie & Shirley.
I'm so thankful for over two and a half years of waking up each morning to a beautiful face and two beautiful kitties (even if they do whine because they're so hungry in the morning... you take the good with the bad).
I'm so thankful for the nights of curling up on the couch, all of us in the room together, just enjoying the company.
I'm so thankful to call Stevie and Shirley my little babies.  They're cute and cuddly and soft.
And us, we're goofy and make up stories about what they do during the day when we're gone. (And it's always far more exciting than what we've been doing.)
He's all tall and handsome and bear-like. And funny and definitely really smart.  Plus, he plays the drums (and that's like the hottest thing EVER).
I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Hope everyone's enjoying these last days before the holiday... listening to carols and eating sweets and thinking about your loved ones.

  3. Look at that ol' kittie modeling for the camera. "I'm just such an awesome cat and I worked real hard all day and I'm soooooo tired. And hungry." Poor guy.

I'm thankful for hot cocoa and cleverly packaged presents EVERY night the week before Christmas. I am thankful that we will see the four corners of the earth together. And I am thankful for amazing blog posts. ;)

Stevie and Shirley called and wanted me to tell you that they love laying on the couch with us at night. And they like laying on the couch all day without us.
